Job Overview/ Purpose:
• Manage the Global SCOM Production, DR and Non Production environments
• Expert knowledge on PowerShell & SCOM Automation
• Maintain, install and upgrade server infrastructure
• Maintain agent packages and manage/control agent deployment
• Manage and maintain Vendor Management Packs for SCOM
• Development of custom Management Packs
• Implementing SCOM automation
• Provide day to day technical support for the SCOM environments
• Provide resource to project initiatives requiring SCOM input
• Provide support to internal groups for Capacity Management using SCOM

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Design and define standards for SCOM
• Deliver Capacity Management Capability by supporting the implementation and support of SCOM components.
• Establish effective lines of communication
• Liaise with other technical support teams (application support, DBA’s and windows) to deliver monitoring services.
• Liaise with IS&D/Systems to develop application monitoring requirements
• Develop, test, and release custom SCOM Management Packs.
• Maintain full documentation for systems with monitoring support
• Lifecycle management of Vendor Management packs.
• Expert knowledge in SCOM Automation using PowerShell
• Provide technical support to development & infrastructure projects
• Provide technical input and support to projects managed externally from the team (infrastructure or business driven) in accordance to the expectations of the project manager
• Provide production support to resolve incidents and problems
• Provide out of hours on-call support on a rota basis- Specify / configure / implement all monitoring requirements using the SCOM application.
• Support Global SCOM production, DR and Non Production server environments daily
• Manage changes and upgrades to the monitoring infrastructure.
• Test of new software releases, patches and upgrades for SCOM
• Collaborate with Engineering and design system refresh and upgrades
• Maintain system documentation

Business Knowledge/ Technical Skills:
• SCOM 2016 and higher
• Windows Server (and related roles and features)
• AD/DNS/DHCP/ADCS
• PowerShell
• XML
• Understanding of Network topology and infrastructure communication
• Able to install and configure the SCOM Infrastructure.
• Able to troubleshoot issues with SCOM Agents and Management servers
• Able to maintain and update PowerShell scripts for PROD and NON PROD
• Able to maintain and update management server housekeeping scripts
• Has In-Depth windows infrastructure systems understanding and knowledge
• Has expert knowledge on PowerShell / SCOM Automation & Management Pack development.

Primary objective:

-Operating in a large Enterprise
-Resent knowledge SCOM (System Centre Operations Manager) on design and implementation
-Resent knowledge SCOM creating and deploying management packs
-Decent knowledge PowerShell (due to creation management packs)

• Experience in supporting Windows server in a large sized environment, mostly virtualized

• Demonstrates professional acumen, integrity, discretion, credibility and trustworthiness
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and results driven
• Ability to respond swiftly to changing demands of the business

• Willingness to travel if required
